How to Boost Website Speed with Cloudflare
Slow websites frustrate visitors. Cloudflare has built-in tools to make your site load significantly faster. Here is a quick guide to enabling the best performance settings for your SastoHost website.
Step 1: Turn on Auto Minify
Auto Minify removes unnecessary blank spaces and characters from your website's code, making the files smaller and faster to load.
- Log in to your Cloudflare Dashboard and select your domain.
- Click on Speed in the left-hand menu, then select Optimization.
- Scroll down to the Auto Minify section.
- Check the boxes for JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
Step 2: Enable Brotli Compression
Brotli is a modern compression method that shrinks your website files behind the scenes so they download quicker for your visitors.
- Stay in the Speed > Optimization menu.
- Scroll down until you find the setting named Brotli.
- Toggle the switch to turn it On.
Step 3: Optimize your Caching Rules
Caching saves a temporary copy of your website on Cloudflare servers around the world, meaning it loads instantly for visitors no matter where they are located.
- Click on Caching in the left-hand menu, then select Configuration.
- Under Caching Level, choose Standard.
- Under Browser Cache TTL, set it to 1 year (or your preferred duration).
- Note: If you ever make major design changes to your site, you can click the Purge Everything button in this menu to clear the cache and force the new version to show immediately.
