Lost Your Keys? How to Reset Your cPanel Password
Misplacing a password happens to the best of us. Whether you simply forgot your login details or you are updating your credentials for better security, regaining access to your hosting account is a quick and painless process. Here are the two easiest ways to reset your SastoHost cPanel password.
Method 1: Reset via the SastoHost Client Area (Recommended)
The fastest way to regain access without waiting for verification emails is by utilizing your main billing account dashboard.
- Log in to your SastoHost Client Area.
- Navigate to the top menu and click on Services, then select My Services.
- Click anywhere on the row of your active hosting plan (avoid clicking the domain name itself).
- On the left-hand sidebar, look for the Actions menu and click on Change Password.
- Type in your new, secure password twice to confirm it, and hit Save Changes. You can now log into cPanel immediately!
Method 2: Reset via the Direct cPanel Login Page
If you don't want to log into your billing area, you can trigger a password reset directly from the cPanel login screen, provided you know your cPanel username.
- Go to your direct cPanel login link (usually yourdomain.com/cpanel or yourdomain.com:2083).
- Click the Reset Password link located just underneath the main login button.
- Enter your exact cPanel username and click Reset Password.
- Enter the contact email address associated with your hosting account and click Send Security Code.
- Check your inbox for an email from cPanel. Copy the security code, paste it into the verification box on your screen, and follow the prompts to create your new password.
Bonus Tip: Creating a Bulletproof Password
Your cPanel holds the keys to your entire website, databases, and emails. Keep it locked down tightly by following these security rules:
- Use a minimum of 12 characters.
- Mix uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols (like !, @, #, or $).
- Never use personal information like birthdays, pet names, or "sastohost123".
- Consider using a secure password manager like Bitwarden or 1Password to generate and remember it for you.
Still locked out? Don't panic! If the reset email isn't arriving or you forgot your username, open a support ticket and our SastoHost team will manually restore your access.
